UEFA is set to meet today to make a decision on how the current football season will be concluded.

Most football season across Europe are on hold (suspended) amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The meeting today will be chaired by UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and will bring together the governing body’s executive committee.

Top on the agenda will be a discussion on the most ideal way to conclude the current 2019/20 season.

The meeting will also discuss on how to conclude the Champions League and Europa League Campaigns

Having already used these meetings previously to take sizeable measures – such as postponing Euro 2020 and setting the date of the finals for Champions League and Europa League finals – it is expected that another set of decisions, with serious implications for some clubs, will be revealed.

As the meeting waits to decide on what will happen, Bundesliga clubs are already back in training with the players called to exercise social distancing while in training.

In Spain, LaLiga president has stated that a return of games may happen on May 28.

The Premier League has been looking at staging games in hubs – using one venue for several fixtures to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

While there are still concerns held by clubs over forcing an end to the season – with some worried about the number of obstacles to overcome in order to get matches played behind closed doors – there is a determination to ensure the season takes its natural course.
