Hemingways Nairobi is the first hotel in Kenya, that has been accepted into the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts program, that offers exclusive benefits for American Express (AmEx) Platinum and Centurion credit card holders.
In 2019, Hemingways Nairobi was the only hotel in Kenya that was featured in the Africa Awards.
It was ranked 13 on Top 25 Hotels – Africa, position 14 on Top 25 Luxury Hotels – Africa (14th) and was 23rd on Top 25 Hotels for Service – Africa.
Group Operations Director Hemingways Collection, Ross Evans says acceptance into the programme is an indication of the quality of their guest experience and an of approval for the Hemingways Collection brand.
The program consists of over 1,000 hotels and resorts that have partnered with American Express to incentivize members to book with their properties. In exchange, members get extra Membership Rewards Points and benefits.
Some of the benefits to its guests offered by the hotel as relates to the program include guaranteed late checkout, complimentary room upgrade and a Ksh. 10,000 credit towards food and beverage.
“We are privileged to pioneer this journey by being the only Kenyan hotel to get accepted in the program. This further positions Kenya as a prime luxury tourist destination to the international market,” he noted.
The qualification process entails a hotel applying into the program and getting randomly inspected on specific standards of quality by the AmEx Fine Hotels and Resorts team and once approved, getting acceptance into the program as one of its partner hotels.
The Hemingways Collection consists of Hemingways Nairobi, Hemingways Ol Seki Mara, Hemingways Watamu and Hemingways Residences.
