Two months after the National Super League (NSL) lost its sponsor, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel as a new sponsor is set to be announced.

The Kenya Football Federation (FKF) is set to announce a new sponsor for the NSL, signaling a brighter future for the league.

The new partnership, Khusoko understands, will be with a betting firm that FKF describes as a ‘leader’ in the gaming industry.

“Football Kenya Federation will on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, unveil a leading online betting company as its official FKF National Super League partner,” said a statement from the federation.

Two months ago, NSL lost Bamba Sports as its sponsor with the broadcaster citing harsh economic conditions prevailing in the country.

In 2017, Bamba Sports had inked a Ksh 30 million sponsorship deal for three years.

However, the going got tough as the government tightened its noose on the operations of betting firms in the country.

As a result, giant betting firms including SportPesa exited the Kenyan market and in its wake, let hundreds jobless and most clubs penniless.
