Radisson Blu Hotel and Residence by the Radisson Hotel Group will be opening its doors at the Nairobi Arboretum area as part of its expansion plans.

“The hotel’s 122 rooms and suites offer the perfect base to explore Nairobi Arboretum, a sprawling forest reserve that is home to over 300 exotic tree species and over 100 bird species,” reads the hotel’s website.

The Group plans to an additional three new brands in Kenya, namely Red Radisson, Radisson, and Radisson Collection.  “There is opportunity along the Coast. Mombasa from regional and domestic meetings and conferencing products. Conversion of an existing property through renovation and rebranding would be an alternative,” said vice President, Business Development, Africa and Indian Ocean, Andrew McLachlan.

Currently, the Radisson group has two hotels in Nairobi, namely Radisson Blu in Upperhill and Park Inn by Radisson in Westlands.

“It is a segment which we think has growth. We see lots of opportunity in East Africa with Nairobi and Addis Ababa. Both cities can have at least five hotels from our brands,” said McLachlan.

The hospitality sector is on an upward trend and continues to attract international hotel chains as a result of increased demand for hospitality services from both leisure and business travelers.

“We expect the real estate sector to continue recording activities fueled by the continued entry and expansion of international brands in the hospitality sector, and the continued efforts by the private sector players to enhance homeownership,” observes Cytonn Real Estate.
