CO-BE Nairobi, Kenya’s design label, has transformed into a new fashion under BOGUK. The new brand, BOGUK, reflects its 8-year growth since its launch in 2011 from pure leisure look to life wear look.

“For over 8 years, and many styles later, we have finally found an aesthetic that would compliment all body types. We don’t design for size, we design for personality,” says the company.

Bevern Oguk, founder at Boguk says the transformation is a result of the dynamics in the company’s, “Aesthetics, systems, and products, we are changing from a pure leisure brand to a more life wear brand with more functional pieces. We are also looking at reducing delivery time and accessibility through our revamped e-shop.”

“The new look Boguk is aimed at exciting the average Kenyan while at the same time inspiring them to be more conscious about their daily fashion,” Oguk said.

BOGUK specialises in reinventing life wear, with its clothes and accessories made to suit the busy lifestyle of the urban man and woman.

Some of the personalities Boguk has dressed include award-winning American superstar Jason Derulo, Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Runtown (Nigeria), Sauti Sol, Adelle Onyango, Muthoni Drummer Queen, Shaffie Weru, Octopizzo, Kagwe Mungai, Wanuri among others.

BOGUK says it is inspired by different cultures and lifestyles, “Despite the growth, change in systems, bigger product range, less delivery lead time, we still get a lot of our inspiration from worldwide cultures, and subcultures like music, pop culture, arts, travel, and kite surfing.”

Their key designs include: Made to Wear, Ready to Wear and Accessories.
