Safaricom Wednesday unveiled ‘18For18’ for its mobile customers as it marked its 18th Anniversary

Safaricom (NSE:SCOM) Kenya’s leading telecommunication has launched a month-long ‘18For18’ offer for its mobile customers who will enjoy 18 minutes of talk time every day for only Ksh 18 to make calls across local networks for Ksh 1 per minute up to 12th December 2018.

“This promotion will run up to Jamhuri Day, and each customer will be able to redeem this offer once a day,” said Ms. Sylvia Mulinge, director in charge of special projects at Safaricom.
The announcement was made on Wednesday as the telco marked 18 years and Mulinge noted that this year, they celebrate with their customer’s needs and wants.
“Safaricom is not just a business; we are a community of people, united by our purpose, our unwavering belief in the resilience, industriousness, and optimism of Kenyans.  We’re telling Kenyans that we’ve listened; that we care, we are here to engage them on a deeper, more personal level. We may not have always gotten it right, but you have our commitment that we are working on making ourselves better, and in so doing, make lives better for you.  By saying #NaweKilaWakati, we are making a pledge to walk with Kenyans, to celebrate their optimism and resilience, and to inspire hope for the future,” she said.

As a result, Safaricom customers from Friday will be able to reactivate expired data bundles by simply purchasing a new data bundle within a period of seven days after the expiry of the initial bundle.
Postpay customers will receive a 10 percent discount on their October bills, while Enterprise and Home Fibre customers will also receive amazing discounts.
“In addition, we will be rewarding customers with 1 free GB of data & a special tariff of 1 bob per minute on their birthdays, valid for that day. This birthday reward will run beyond the promotion period to allow everyone on our network to enjoy it,” said Mulinge.
“No matter how tough times are, we remain committed to our purpose of transforming lives; to reflecting the innate goodness and resilience of the Kenyan people; to putting you, our customer, first, and to walking with you every step of the way,” she added.
